YMCA Policies Acknowledgment

Medical Treatment and Transportation Authorization
Summary: In emergencies, the YMCA can seek medical treatment for participants and transport them if necessary, at the participant's expense.
Implication: You're responsible for any medical costs incurred, acknowledging that YMCA fees do not cover accident insurance.
Photo/Video/Media Authorization and Release
Summary: The YMCA can use photos, videos, or other digital media of participants for their publications without compensation.
Implication: You waive the right to any claims against the YMCA for the use of these likenesses.
High-Risk Activities Assumption of Risks
Summary: Participation in YMCA activities carries inherent risks, including physical injury or even death.
Implication: By participating, you acknowledge these risks and assume responsibility for any resulting harm or injury.
Waiver of Liability
Summary: Participants release the YMCA and related entities from liability for any injuries, damages, or death that might occur from participation, including from organic pathogens.
Implication: You agree not to hold the YMCA liable for any personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death, even if caused by negligence on the part of the YMCA.
Indemnification
Summary: Participants agree to cover any legal claims or losses the YMCA might face as a result of their participation.
Implication: If your actions lead to a lawsuit against the YMCA, you would be responsible for the costs.
Health Certification
Summary: Participants certify they are in good health and capable of safely participating in YMCA activities.
Implication: You confirm that you have no health conditions that would endanger yourself or others during participation.

Summary: The waiver intends to be as inclusive as allowed by Texas law, and if parts are invalidated, the rest remains effective.

Signing Acknowledgment

AUTHORIZATIONS, RELEASE, AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
YMCA Policies:
I acknowledge and agree that I and my minor child(ren) will abide by all posted and communicated YMCA rules and policies. YMCA Dallas Membership Policies
Medical Treatment and Transportation Authorization:
In any emergency requiring medical care, the Y is authorized to obtain medical treatment deemed necessary. I understand accident insurance is not included in YMCA fees and will bear all medical expenses. Permission is granted for transportation in a YMCA vehicle for program participation or emergencies.
Photo/Video/Media Authorization and Release:
I grant permission for the YMCA to use my and my minor child(ren)'s likeness in publications, including online, without compensation. I release the YMCA from all claims related to this use.
High-Risk Activities Assumption of Risks:
I acknowledge inherent risks in YMCA activities, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, aquatic and athletic injuries, illness, and potential exposure to pathogens, leading to injury or death. I assume all such risks for myself and my family.
Waiver of Liability:
I release YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, its affiliates, and agents from any claims of negligence leading to personal injury, property damage, or death. This includes liabilities related to organic pathogens from participation in YMCA activities, using its facilities, or equipment.
Indemnification:
I agree to indemnify the YMCA from any claims or costs arising from my participation.
Health Certification:
I certify that I and my child(ren) are in good health and capable of safe participation in YMCA activities.
Legal Considerations:
This waiver is as inclusive as allowed by Texas law. If any part is invalid, the remainder remains effective.
Acknowledgment and Agreement:
